To quickly and easily crochet a double crochet stitch (abbreviated to dc) in crochet patterns, do the following:
1. Insert hook into position
2. Pick up yarn, draw hook back out – 2 loops on hook.
3. Wrap yarn round hook making 3 loops and draw hook through them.
